07_may_2015A letter a day to number 10. No 1,080

Thursday 07 May 2015.

Dear Mr Cameron,

Claiming Ed Miliband is preparing a con trick is just more self serving nonsense from you. If the boot was on the other foot you’d be creating just as much fuss in an effort to establish your legitimacy to form a government, so, please, just shut up!

It’s tiring, it’s wearing, it’s pathetic, it’s ridiculous.

The party that can claim a majority and the confidence of the house has the constitutional right to form a government.

You might think it’s a con trick and , yes, Miliband has said he won’t do a deal with the SNP. Well he wouldn’t be the first Prime Minister to break his word, would he? If you want to throw a paddy, do it in your own time and have the decency to do it in private.

You’ve torn our country apart for five years, refusing to see sense or reason, you’ve lied to the House of Commons, not least in saying, regarding the bedroom tax, “Obviously what we’ve done is exempt disabled people who need an extra room” and never offered any kind of apology for such an egregious lie.

The media attack dogs, like the Mail and Sun, will howl and scream and smear Miliband and Labour, as they have throughout the election campaign, but it’s about time they were reigned in and prevented from deliberately misleading the public and running such virulent smear campaigns for their own self serving reasons. They are an embarrassment to themselves.

I don’t recall ever seeing such juvenile goings on, to the same degree, in any other election, small wonder people find it hard to engage or have no interest in voting. I suppose that could be regarded as a pretty good tactic to alienate much of the electorate, to me it just says that we are in desperate need of political reform in which just growing up would be a pretty good start.
