(This last week has been one of the worst I have lived through in a long time and I make no apologies that it is reflected in this piece of writing)

Here’s a very simple statement, the consequences, however, are anything but…

There is no democracy without accountability.

All too often the first casualty in elections is truth. If people do not know what they are voting for, or think they are voting for something which is a lie, then the election itself is not democratic, the entire process is a fiction perpetrated by power to serve its own ends.

A very obvious example is the EU referendum and the leave campaigns promise of £350 million a week for the NHS. Only a complete fool could now believe that the promise was an honest mistake and not exactly what it was, a deliberate. deceitful, lie.

In 2010 David Cameron published a signed contract to Britain which was a pack of lies, in fact false promises are so common in politics they are taken for granted, under such conditions parliamentary democracy is at best a sham, but is, in fact, non existent.

As we have discovered to our very great cost, since 2010 and an election fought on false promises, Britain is a hostage to power in which any semblance of democratic accountability has been entirely removed.

Many people have asked and continue to ask, ‘What can we do?’ as those in government drive us ever further into social breakdown.

We’re told to focus on policies and not indulge in feelings. I beg to differ. We need to focus on policies and LIES and that involves feelings, because I am livid: furiously angry. And that is absolutely the right thing to be.

In Prime Ministers Question Time this week, in response to Jeremy Corbyn saying, “We are a government in waiting,” Theresa May said, “We all know what that means – waiting to put up taxes, waiting to destroy jobs, waiting to bankrupt our country. We will never let it happen.”

“We will never let it happen.” What? Who the hell does Theresa May think she is? That is not for her or her party to decide. That is the statement of a despot.

Theresa May has no intention of making herself accountable to the people. She would never have called a snap election if she’d had any idea that it wouldn’t pay off, since when she has done everything in her power to strengthen her position, paying out a £1 billion bribe to the DUP even whilst sneering in the faces of public sector workers, denying them a decent wage and, in the recent vote to scrap the public sector pay cap, her party cheered when they voted it down.

I’ll tell you what democracy feels like right now. It is rock bottom, it is the belly falling out of life. Lead fingers trying to find words on my keyboard, and cursing at every clumsy misspelling and sitting waiting for words that are clamped in feelings of rage and hopelessness. It is staring at those who speak false words and meaningless bullshit, who lie as a way of life, who hold on to power by any foul means they can manipulate and enforce. Democracy is the voice that asks, ‘How do we end this?’ looking for answers that they have stolen from us. Their democracy is every broken life smashed down by vicious cruelty and uncaring brutality.

Real democracy is raging anger so deep it burns. Theresa May says she got the most votes in the GE, X’s in boxes, but what matters is what informs those X’s, and lies are not informed, they are the food of ignorance, division, deception and hate. The general election was not an election, it was a complete farce.

Living isn’t a static process. When David Cameron said that Britain is ‘for hard working people’, he created a myth out of nonsense the purpose of which was social division. Anyone not on his bandwagon of robotic idiocy was fair game for every attack that has since been launched against all manner of people, including single mothers, disabled people, old people, young people just starting out in life, even immigrants, no matter how hard working, they are not Cameron’s hardworking people, they are the job stealers from Cameron’s eugenicist, lunatic, white master race of complete idiots. Their victims bleed when the knife goes in, but they are non-people, they do not matter. Another useless life thrown overboard from the Tory ship of fools.

I weep for this country and all its people, unlike the emotionless freaks who are destroying it for profit. This last week has been absolutely fucking awful and I am glad because unlike the power crazed zombies in the Tory party, I am fully human and fully alive.

Saturday 09 July 2016.

Dear Mr Cameron,

What the EU referendum and the Chilcot report have brought into the spotlight is something that has been glaringly obvious for a very long time, we can no longer afford or tolerate the lack, indeed the absence, of government accountability.

Aside from banking and the financial markets, witness the 2008 financial crisis and post Brexit behaviour, no other form of employment enjoys such complete protection from being held accountable for policies and decisions which affect vast numbers of people at such great personal cost.

No one should be above the law and given that we are, in reality, not all equal before the law, the current situation needs turning on its head. Currently, those with the least have the least protection in law, whilst those with the most have the most protection.

There is no justice as long as a 23-year-old can be jailed for six months for stealing £3.50 worth of water bottles from a supermarket during the 2011 riots whilst not a single banker has been prosecuted for the financial crisis.

You made an election pledge in 2010 that there would be no more top down reorganisations of the NHS, yet the The Health and Social Care Act 2012 ‘Abolished the Secretary of State for Health’s ‘duty to provide’ a national health service throughout England’. That act of social vandalism effectively spelled the end of the NHS which has been stealthily and deceitfully pursued ever since.

Currently, Britain is a rudderless ship, you have washed your hands of Britain following the vote to leave the EU and the three most prominent Brexiteers, Boris Johnson, Michael Gove and Nigel Farage, have all walked away following their campaigns of deceit. I also note that Priti Patel has crawled under a stone and is keeping damned quiet. Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission, has mocked their behaviour and accused them of abandoning ship, as he put it, “I would have thought that they would have had a plan. Instead of developing a plan they are leaving the boat.” Not forgetting that you had no plan for such an eventuality either.

George Orwell’s Animal Farm could have been written for Britain today – ‘all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others’. It was no accidental flight of writers fancy that this was said by a bunch of greedy self serving pigs.

Sunday 03 July 2016.

Dear Mr Cameron,

James Traub, unsurprisingly a member of the ignorant social elites, has written the following, “It’s time for the elites to rise up against the ignorant masses. The Brexit has laid bare the political schism of our time. It’s not about the left vs. the right; it’s about the sane vs. the mindlessly angry…”. He goes on, “The Republican Party, already rife with science-deniers and economic reality-deniers, has thrown itself into the embrace of a man (Donald Trump) who fabricates realities that ignorant people like to inhabit.

“Did I say “ignorant”? Yes, I did. It is necessary to say that people are deluded and that the task of leadership is to un-delude them.

“Is that “elitist”? Maybe it is; maybe we have become so inclined to celebrate the authenticity of all personal conviction that it is now elitist to believe in reason, expertise, and the lessons of history.”

As with all elites, Traub plays fast and loose with reality to suit his own prejudices and purposes. The elites do not fabricate realities that ignorant people like to inhabit, they fabricate the realities that they want the masses to inhabit. From Edward Bernays, the father of PR and mass social manipulation, to Alastair Campbell, Tony Blair’s Director of Communications and Strategy who was involved in the preparation of the infamous “Dodgy Dossier”, to Lynton Crosby, your own political strategist, known as the “master of the dark political arts”, confounding and manipulating the public is big business for those intent on self serving misrule. Propaganda is the raison d’etre for news rags like the Sun, Mail and the Express.

The so called elites run the world and are exclusively, and historically, responsible for the mess we’re in. Whilst ordinary people were busy working, earning a crust on minimum wage, being forced into debt whilst producing, above all, profit, it was the elite bankers who crashed the global economy. And who was forced to pay? The chaos surrounding the EU referendum was manufactured from on high, not least by you, Boris Johnson and Michael Gove, and whilst the ‘ignorant masses’ have taken the blame as ever, Gove is now looking to replace you as prime minister because you’ve washed your hands of the whole filthy business. If the masses are angry it is because they are sick and tired of the lies and deceits of the elites and suffering and dying as a consequence of the vile abuses of the ruling elites.

If Traub wants to learn the lessons of history, he should look to the French revolution which was not triggered by the masses, it was triggered by the wholesale abuses of the aristocracy and the elites who were starving the people to death. Traub in his arrogance accuses the masses of mindless anger. Believe me, the anger is not mindless, it is very focused, it is the rage of the abused. It may appear chaotic and disorganised, the reaction to oppression often is, but the rage is just, as is its purpose. The terror that Corbyn invokes in the minds of elitists, is that he is on the protests and picket lines for organised justice, a man of peace and a man of the people and all you elitists are on the wrong side of the protests and picket lines and, indeed, the wrong side of history. And you never learn.

Saturday 02 July 2016.

Dear Mr Cameron,

If the referendum has taught me anything it’s that it’s extraordinary how many people know everything after the event and aren’t afraid to rip apart those who they think didn’t know better before the event. As a political writer I am blown away by how many political pundits have been lurking away in the background waiting for their big hindsight moment.

Over 4 million people have signed a petition calling for a 2nd EU Referendum. The petition was set up on 23 May 2016 by someone apparently fearful of the Remain vote winning the referendum. The poor chap is seemingly not very happy that the petition has since been dominated by Remain voters and those terrified that they made a mistake in voting for Brexit. Therein lies the issue at the heart of democracy, you never know which way it’s going to go, although vast amounts of money are spent trying to predict outcomes, or even manipulate them if one is criminally inclined.

Writing in the Guardian, Geoffrey Robertson has an interesting take on democracy, he writes, “Our democracy does not allow, much less require, decision-making by referendum. That role belongs to the representatives of the people and not to the people themselves. Democracy has never meant the tyranny of the simple majority, much less the tyranny of the mob…”

Given that the 2015 General Election was won by 24% of those eligible to vote, giving you an unrepresentative majority in government, that hardly represents the tyranny of the mob, rather the tyranny of the few, a tyranny you have exploited ever since. And if we really want to talk about the tyranny of the few, let’s talk about a government that is privatising our NHS with no mandate to do any such thing.

The turnout for the 2015 General Election was 66.1% and you secured a majority from just 37% of those who bothered to turn out. The turnout for the EU referendum was 71.8% of which 52% voted to leave the EU. I’ll leave it to you to work out which was the more representative vote of the will of the people.

Calling democracy or even representative democracy mob rule, Geoffrey Robertson doesn’t really have anything to say about democracy, but rather the sneering disdain and contempt that elitists have for ordinary people. Robertson writes, “Democracy entails an elected government, subject to certain checks and balances such as the common law and the courts, and an executive ultimately responsible to parliament, whose members are entitled to vote according to conscience and common sense.” None of which applies to you and your government, so he’s really not paying attention to reality at all.

Wednesday 22 June 2016.

Dear Mr Cameron,

The one thing I can say about the EU referendum and the Tory campaign is that it has been run by the fantastically corrupt for the fantastically corrupt.

I have never witnessed a more brutally corrupt campaign which has sowed discord and confusion at every step of the way.

Ipsos MORI found that 47 per cent of the public believe the claim that we pay £350 million a week to the European Union. Why would they not? It is a lie that has been ruthlessly promoted with malicious intent.

I saw some clips of you in a TV studio facing the public. What boggles my mind is that people would actually go to such an event, sit docilely in seats and ask you questions as if anything you say will be of any value to them whatsoever.

In America snake oil salesmen used to go around the country preying on folks with their magic elixirs of life. In Britain people will happily attend a TV event to participate in the same sort of flannel from politicians who not only have a vested interest in lying but have a proven track record. Isn’t that so, Mr no more top down reorganisations of the NHS?

Michael Gove, Boris Johnson and Priti Patel all claim that money saved from EU membership can be spent on the NHS. These are Tory policy decisions that are not in the remit of any of those politicians and I have heard no such commitment from you, Jeremy Hunt or George Osborne in the event of a majority vote for Britain’s exit. As such these ‘suggestions’ do not represent real term benefits, they are mere speculation against the facts over the last six years which show that the break up and privatisation of the NHS is inevitable due to Tory policy and a deliberate starvation of funds.

The reality is that Jeremy Hunt and Simon Stevens, CEO of NHS England, have launched their ‘Footprints’ plan which will close services and sell off NHS land and hospitals which, unless we fight them tooth and nail, will happen regardless of the EU result. Part of that plan is to reduce the number of A&E departments from 144 A&E departments in England (2013 figure) to only 40-70. This is social vandalism by stealth on a grand scale for which you have absolutely no political mandate.

I can do no better than repeat the words of Aneurin Bevan in 1956 for today, you Tories have “besmirched the name of Britain. You have made us ashamed of the things of which formerly we were proud. You have offended against every principle of decency and there is only one way in which you can even begin to restore your tarnished reputation and that is to get out! Get out! Get out!”

Dear Mr Cameron,

I am amazed at all the sound and fury that’s kicked off over the EU referendum, admittedly a lot of it is piss and wind, but regardless of that, where’s it all been hiding in six long tooth grinding years of Tory misrule?

Suddenly there are political pundits everywhere, it’s wearing me out. It’s a kind of keyboard Armageddon, a prelude to the forthcoming actual Armageddon when we’re either in or out of the EU. If we leave we are, seemingly, going to lose the skills brought by foreign workers who have been a mainstay of our NHS since its inception, which was 25 years before we joined the European Community. If we stay we’ll be eating straight bananas, forever. Shurely shomething is wrong.

Little chubby cheeked Mikey wants us to break out the bunting and dodgy Dave (cooee) wants to save us from WWIII and let’s not forget (risqué sexist warning for anyone who feels they are missing that little extra something to lose their mind over) priti priti who wants to ensure our penal labour servitude forever.

In or out, it seems that Britain has become a toothless hag which must either be propped up by an EU zimmer frame or gird up its timorous loins and learn to fend for itself for the first time ever, in history, ever, once again. The big money is so terrified of the senile old ding bat, it’s running for the hills. ‘Don’t worry,’ I want to tell these scaredy fat cats, ‘the city of London will still be a fantastically corrupt global tax haven in which to stash your unearned cash. We’ve still got dodgy Dave (cooee2) and gorgeous George at the helm, they will always wuv you.’ (Cue – Whitney)

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, as they say, the race to the bottom continues for the good folks of Britain, the great unwashed, the ordinary skivers, scroungers, strivers, low paid, no paid, Workfare plagued, Motability denied, pick up your wheelchair and work, halt and lame, pensions robbed, welfare denied, useless eating public. And that’s not to mention the destruction and privatisation of our NHS and George’s wholesale asset stripping of all the good things we’ve built and paid for and maintained so well, that are worth a bob or two, enough to flog off to his city mates on the cheap. Sorry, I’ve been and gone and done mentioned them, haven’t I?

Where are all the Armagedd-heads when you need them? Where is all the spit and rage when you really need it? Can we have an independent inquiry into whether Britain is the most bonkers nation in the world? Is it down to global warming because you know what they say about the midday sun, Englishmen and mad dogs. Anyway, I’m off for a nice cup of tea and to give myself a heave ho in the sock department, ups my daisy and have a bit of there there, dear. Toodle pip for now.

Dear Mr Cameron,

Politics is a cess pool of filth. What we are seeing today is a crime that lacks a name, it’s a PR driven filth machine.

Every politician engaging in this filth is a vile creature without conscience and part of a cancer that should be utterly crushed and eradicated.

I am ashamed of what I see and have to endure on a daily basis. There is no debate, no sense or reason, other than the pursuit of personal gain through the most vile and perverted means.

Zac Goldsmith is a political disgrace, engaging in what’s called dog whistle politics, he’s seeking election through vilification. He has nothing to offer and is a self aggrandising propagandist.

The EU referendum is awash with liars pursuing agendas that have nothing of the public good in them. Fear mongering and falsehoods abound on both sides showing utter contempt for the public. In or out, we are assaulted by liars.

I am proud to be political, politics impacts every facet of our lives and I adhere to the saying, ‘the personal is political’, but when I see it being corrupted as it is today I am filled with loathing and disgust.

Your behaviour at Prime Ministers Question Time, were in any other sphere, would merely shame you, but given the office that you pretend to, yet betray daily, is a personal insult to everyone in the nation.

The House of Commons has become a circus ground in which serious political debate and profound social issues are mocked, jeered and ridiculed. People starve and die and yet Tory MP’s laughed and jeered when told of the hardship people were suffering. Your kind of politics is a festering, suppurating, boil that needs nothing so much as lancing and being forcibly expunged forever.

Dear Mr Cameron,

The EU debate is an absolute shambles and it is a shambles formulated by your party, with malicious intent to deceive, befuddle and bewilder and to create fear and uncertainty. As such it is unforgivable.

According to George Osborne people who support trading outside of the EU are “economically illiterate”, his 14 year projection is that everyone in Britain would be £4,300 worse off by 2030. Which is not bad going when he can’t manage a single accurate annual projection in his budgets.

Priti Patel (a second-generation migrant) blames migrants for the “crisis” of our “broken school system”, as Shadow Education Secretary Lucy Powell put it. There is only one reason that our education system is in crisis, it’s called The Tories. Under Michael Gove and now the entirely vacant eyed Nicky Morgan, that we have a functioning education system at all is down to staff dedication and nothing to do with government as Morgan attempts to privatise the entire system.

Gove and now Morgan are responsible for literally giving away tens of billions of pounds worth of school properties, robbing the nation blind, as one blogger put it, it’s ‘ideological vandalism of the education system’. Not too many migrants to blame for any of that then.

Meanwhile Gove reckons Britain’s trade and financial systems would ‘thrive’ if we left the EU and we’ve had your £9 million leaflet (I hope you’ve enjoyed the returns) to say how hunky we’d all be if we stayed.

What it all comes down to is a farce put on by a bunch of cheap, chiseling, low rent, snake oil salesmen. We’d be better off if you were all put in a sack with a few of anvils for company and dropped from a great height into the Mariana Trench. And, actually, that holds true whether there is an EU referendum or not.

Wednesday 24 February 2016.

Dear Mr Cameron,

There is a saying, “In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way.” It is disputed as to who may or may not have coined that saying, but at least it makes a valid point unlike your party of the utterly pointless.

The in/out referendum isn’t even days old yet and what have we got? Bedlam! And all from one party, yours. Utter and total chaos.

We have the gang of five, Michael Gove, Chris Grayling, Priti Patel, Iain Duncan Smith and John Whittingdale, smug as rats at a food waste dump, spouting negatives as if they had any meaning at all, claiming your European ‘deal would not stem the flow of migration, safeguard the City of London or even be legally enforceable’.

Boris Johnson! I’ll let former Conservative MP Jerry Hayes have the say on him. “Boris Johnson has proved beyond all reasonable doubt that he is a copper bottomed, double dealing, hypocritical little shit. For a man thirteen days ago who wrote eloquently of all the reasons we should stay in the EU and who weeks previously had made it fairly clear that he wanted to remain, the reek of u turned burnt rubber and the aftershave of political greed infects the air.”

Iain Duncan Smith, the greatest threat to Britain’s national security at this time, claims, in a nutshell, that remaining in the EU is a threat to national security and we’ll be overrun with migrant fiends plotting our destruction. In Smith’s opinion, “This open border does not allow us to check and control people who may come and spend time. We see what happened in Paris where they spent ages planning and plotting. Who is to say it is not beyond the wit of man that those might be already thinking about that” Who is to say indeed and I wish he hadn’t bothered. What a complete, witless, negative and pointless waste of space!

In a foreword to your 43 page white paper, laughingly referred to as, ‘reform plans’ you have apparently written, “Leaving Europe would threaten our economic and our national security.” At least you and IDS agree on one thing, everything that ever existed, from Jeremy Corbyn to the Teletubbies, is a threat to our national security.

Well done! Well done all of you. You’ve made a mockery of this referendum and are mocking the good people in this country. You might as well explain the benefits of fire by saying, “It could burn you and your house down. Now write and essay on the benefits of fire in human development.” And just for the record, with Iain Duncan Smith running the DWP the least of our worries is terrorism from Johnny Furriner.
