Any politician who employs deceit, deception, lies, propaganda, spin, corruption, cheating, defamation, character assassination, libel, slander or any other form of corrupt practice to achieve power, should never hold office.

Currently elections are a free for all, reliant on the integrity or parties and individuals, with few, if any, checks and balances to protect the public from foul play.

What checks and balances that do exist are too slow and cumbersome to be of any effective use. The Electoral Commission, the independent body which oversees elections and regulates political finance in the UK, does not have the power or resources to live monitor the election process. In the same way, there is no effective real time media oversight to hold media outlets to account, they are free to mislead the public through any and every dubious tactic they employ.

Yet again, the troubles in Ireland have been raised by the Conservatives to undermine Jeremy Corbyn. These are the usual low rent, cheap tricks, employed by the Lynton Crosby school of muck raking and mud slinging, but it tells me more about the Tories than it does about anything else. Have not the long suffering people of Ireland had enough trouble without this abuse?

What this highlights for me is the utter contempt that the Conservative Party have for the lives and concerns of ordinary people. How must it feel in Derry right now, after all they have been through, to witness a bunch of English toffs using them for cheap political point scoring… again? I know exactly how it makes me feel and it is difficult to contain the anger that rises up and the desire for vengeance against a party that cares as little for my own life as is does for the people of Ireland.

I was in Cleadon, South Tyneside, in County Durham, during the miners strike, I witnessed the violence unleashed against the striking miners and their families, which meant entire communities, and I witnessed the bravery and courage of people who were having their livelihoods stolen from them by a party and, very specifically, Thatcher, whose entire intent was to crush the Miners Union and, thereby, all unions. That’s what all the violence and chaos was about.

Memories rise up unbidden, but in the present, there is the party that invokes those memories, who are very comfortable with the suffering they cause ordinary people, who treat us all as an enemy to be crushed. That’s what has happened to disabled people, people looking for work and poor people generally, therein lies the entire ideology of the Department for Work and Pensions, to penalise us and crush us with a casual indifference for those who die along the way.

If the Conservatives win the General Election, I do not expect to survive another five years of their brutality. I am not emoting here and require no ones sympathy, I am merely stating a stark internal awareness based on Tory plans for pensions and health care, both of which I am reliant on through the progress of age and illness in my life. And I am by no means alone, as family, friends, acquaintances, and connections to people which extend out through social media, face their own diverse circumstances under the brutality of Tory misrule.

Theresa May, Michael Fallon, Boris Johnson, Amber Rudd, Michael Gove, Damian Green, Iain Duncan Smith, Jeremy Hunt, Priti Patel, and not forgetting David Cameron and George Osborne (to name but a few), these are people in whom I see no shred of humanity or decency, to whom we are mere pawns in their ‘game’. Whoever and wherever you are right now, do you feel these people have a positive regard for your life? If so, in what way?

What I see is a bunch of smug, over privileged, self serving, lying, cheating, stealing, thugs. Don’t agree? Sue me and let’s see the evidence for a government against whom the EU has found, “UK welfare reforms have led to “grave and systematic violations” of disabled people’s rights”.

Theresa May has claimed this General Election is “the most important election this country has faced in my lifetime”, if so she’s making a piss poor show of giving a tinkers cuss. What I know for certain is that this General Election is the most important election I’ve faced in my lifetime and I’ll fight her every millimetre of the way to the ballot box for a fair and just Britain and an end to the party of the privileged few for the privileged few and an end to their lies and deceit and their easy dealing in death and misery.

Enough is enough.

The right wing media, the Telegraph, Sun, Mail, Express, etc. are celebrating the hiring of Lynton Crosby to run Theresa May’s election campaign. They describe Crosby in such terms as ‘mastermind behind 2015 win’, ‘political guru Sir Lynton Crosby’, ‘the architect of David Cameron’s victory’, but he’s also known as ‘master of the dark political arts’.

Psychological manipulation and perception management, better known as propaganda or PR, lie at the heart of much of what we are going to be assaulted with in the following weeks.

This is a real time information war, a media onslaught against the best interests of ordinary people. The elites (very much the Tories) are for the elites and no matter how wealthy they get, they always want more and the source of their wealth is always ordinary people.

Every time they foul up, create a financial crash, boom and bust, they expect the victims, the ordinary tax payers, to pick up the tab regardless of the cost in the lives and well being of the people. And the media is fully complicit in this, telling ordinary people that the rich and powerful are the only people we can trust, even whilst sucking us dry, and demonising socialists and anyone calling for a fair and just society.

Anyone wanting a clearer picture of what is going on has to make an effort to find sources of information other than the main stream media. But in order to do that, it first requires that people begin to suspect that they might not be getting the full story. Even then it is not easy to gather information, it takes practice.

Alternative media sites are ranked lower than the mainstream media (MSM) by Google and other search engines. Type any trending headline and the MSN is top of the list. Information is sifted in favour of the dominant narrative of those in power including those who own the media.

What you will see are news articles from the Guardian, Telegraph, Sun, Mail, Express, etc. What you will not see are independent sites like Vox Political, Dorset Eye, Skwawkbox, The Canary, Evolve Politics and so on. Any reputable news site will source their information enabling readers to check what they are reporting for themselves, rags that the Sun, Mail and Express, the more extreme right, don’t bother to do so because they are in the business of manipulating their readers, not informing them.

Even the least curious, least media savvy, people will have heard how awful or useless Jeremy Corbyn is, and indeed, are likely to be the most vocal in their denunciation of him. They have likely never heard him make a speech, other then the soundbites offered by the mainstream media in discrediting him, never looked at his policies, never questioned what socialism is and perhaps strongly suspect it is really just the western face of communism, a wolf in sheeps clothing, and that Corbyn eats babies for breakfast (I think I am jesting there, but who knows?).

Theresa May would not have called this general election if she were not very confident of winning and she certainly wouldn’t be refusing to appear in debates or accepting any media presence (even those loyal to her) at her staged rallies or any questions from anyone about her policies. And she’s ahead in the polls. In fact she is supremely confident that she will get an overwhelming majority.

In front of us, then, is a battle royal.

I was raised in a dirt poor royalist Tory household and I learnt my politics in the school of hard knocks and I am now a socialist to my bones and I am certain of one thing, we have to take the Tories down. It’s been said again and again, we must get rid of the Tories, too many have already died at their hands.

We are faced with an opportunity, we have at our fingertips a means of mass communication unlike anything previously seen of the planet. If we are to be victorious then it falls to each one of us to use it and exploit it to challenge the propaganda that will be filling the airwaves over the next few weeks.

This is not the time for hopelessness, especially amongst those who are suffering the most under the Tory jack boots and who have my every sympathy. This is the time to fight, this is the time for vengeance, this is the time to direct all the pain and suffering, the fear and desperate anxiety, at taking out the enemy within. This is the time to use our fury and bring the Tories down.

For every moment of fear of the dreaded brown envelope falling though the door, hit back! For David Cameron saying, “For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens ‘as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone.” Let’s give it right back and hound them out of office.

Those who know me will know I never argue or debate. I share information to the best of my creative ability and care nothing for trolls and shills and Theresa May is nothing if not a troll and a plague on our lives.

I am not a democracy, I am a sovereign human being and do not agree or submit to being subjugated by anyone, least of all by the likes of Cameron and May, but Theresa May is the subject of democracy, she is seeking to remain in office as Prime Minister and she has a duty to the people, to the democratic power of the people and the people have a right to be informed. If she will not do it, and she won’t, we can and must. She wishes to rule by deceit, that is what she has employed Lynton Crosby to do. We have to call the shots and challenge every lie and they come up with, every deceit, every rotten ploy to deceive the public, using all our intelligence and creativity and the tools at our disposal.

And above all, set our teeth, our minds and hearts, to WIN! It is time to commit the nasty party to history. Whatever the result on the 8th of June, that is for then, this is now. Fight to wipe the smiles of their arrogant faces and eat their mockery of us. Fight to win back our lives!

A letter a day to number 10. No 1,482

Sunday 03 July 2016.

Dear Mr Cameron,

James Traub, unsurprisingly a member of the ignorant social elites, has written the following, “It’s time for the elites to rise up against the ignorant masses. The Brexit has laid bare the political schism of our time. It’s not about the left vs. the right; it’s about the sane vs. the mindlessly angry…”. He goes on, “The Republican Party, already rife with science-deniers and economic reality-deniers, has thrown itself into the embrace of a man (Donald Trump) who fabricates realities that ignorant people like to inhabit.

“Did I say “ignorant”? Yes, I did. It is necessary to say that people are deluded and that the task of leadership is to un-delude them.

“Is that “elitist”? Maybe it is; maybe we have become so inclined to celebrate the authenticity of all personal conviction that it is now elitist to believe in reason, expertise, and the lessons of history.”

As with all elites, Traub plays fast and loose with reality to suit his own prejudices and purposes. The elites do not fabricate realities that ignorant people like to inhabit, they fabricate the realities that they want the masses to inhabit. From Edward Bernays, the father of PR and mass social manipulation, to Alastair Campbell, Tony Blair’s Director of Communications and Strategy who was involved in the preparation of the infamous “Dodgy Dossier”, to Lynton Crosby, your own political strategist, known as the “master of the dark political arts”, confounding and manipulating the public is big business for those intent on self serving misrule. Propaganda is the raison d’etre for news rags like the Sun, Mail and the Express.

The so called elites run the world and are exclusively, and historically, responsible for the mess we’re in. Whilst ordinary people were busy working, earning a crust on minimum wage, being forced into debt whilst producing, above all, profit, it was the elite bankers who crashed the global economy. And who was forced to pay? The chaos surrounding the EU referendum was manufactured from on high, not least by you, Boris Johnson and Michael Gove, and whilst the ‘ignorant masses’ have taken the blame as ever, Gove is now looking to replace you as prime minister because you’ve washed your hands of the whole filthy business. If the masses are angry it is because they are sick and tired of the lies and deceits of the elites and suffering and dying as a consequence of the vile abuses of the ruling elites.

If Traub wants to learn the lessons of history, he should look to the French revolution which was not triggered by the masses, it was triggered by the wholesale abuses of the aristocracy and the elites who were starving the people to death. Traub in his arrogance accuses the masses of mindless anger. Believe me, the anger is not mindless, it is very focused, it is the rage of the abused. It may appear chaotic and disorganised, the reaction to oppression often is, but the rage is just, as is its purpose. The terror that Corbyn invokes in the minds of elitists, is that he is on the protests and picket lines for organised justice, a man of peace and a man of the people and all you elitists are on the wrong side of the protests and picket lines and, indeed, the wrong side of history. And you never learn.

Dear Mr Cameron,

I don’t suppose all the referendum sound and the fury is over yet, it seems a whole lot of rage and bile has been released over a lot of mights and maybe’s and don’t we just love a good fight over anything that is largely conjecture. 30 gazzillion Turks coming over here taking our jobs or WWIII in the divided states of Europe.

Back in the real world where you’re privatising our NHS and want it to be run as a USA insurance based payment scheme, thousands dead within weeks of being found fit for work, the loss of the Independent Living Fund and Motability, cuts to ESA, closing hospitals and front line services, zero hours contracts keeping people poor, forced labour under workfare, sanctions depriving people of the means of survival and so on and on, I guess its back to the few to carry on fighting and the silent majority can go back to sleep.

I am sure that you must all be very proud of how a well crafted and managed shit storm can drive the nation half demented, but real time issues, real policies, in the here and now can be so totally ignored.

Really it’s a PR triumph. Although his name hasn’t been mentioned once as far as I know, the referendum had all the hall marks of a Lynton Crosby campaign of filth written all over it.

Crosby is famous for his ‘dead cat’ strategy, if you want to hide the real time foul and fetid, find something to distract and inflame our delicate sensibilities. Migrants are currently still the best dead cat, but terrorism still has plenty of mileage in it, as does extremist, as long as it’s a brown one and therefore Muslim. Whoever heard of a murder by a white extremist? They are usually painted as quiet and unassuming, mentally ill or a model citizen involved in volunteer work. 30 gazzillion Turks was neat, straight out of thin air. Mind you, another major war in Europe was pretty good too.

Whatever the referendum result, we’ll still be labouring under the worst government in UK history and I am sure George Osborne has already planned how he’s going to punish us even more for the economic uncertainty caused by the referendum.

If the result is that we’ll leave the EU and if that causes a recession, Boris Johnson has said he’ll apologise on TV for getting it wrong. Of course he will, it’s no skin off his nose, he’s a millionaire and has no idea what austerity means and nor could he care less. He can say his meaningless sorry and get right back to his publicly subsidised Bollinger or Moet or whatever tickles his fancy. Along with the rest of you. Whatever happens, one thing is for sure, the poor will pay, they always have and they always will and you millionaire career politicians will make sure of it.

Sunday 08 May 2016.

Dear Mr Cameron,

It’s a curious juxtaposition; Lynton Crosby knighted for services to dirty politics by an unelected head of state and Sadiq Khan becoming Mayor of London on the biggest personal democratic mandate in British political history.

Bizarrely Sadiq Khan was also the target of the dirtiest election campaign in UK history by Lynton Crosby’s team of purveyors of political filth.

Jemima Goldsmith, sister of Zac Goldsmith, front man in the campaign against Khan, publicly criticised the appalling campaign and was reported as saying it ‘did not reflect the type of person she knows him to be’. Maybe so, but then the best we can say of Goldsmith is that he acted in a spineless and contemptible manner.

In the MailOnline Goldsmith wrote, ‘London stands on the brink of a catastrophe, the shockwaves from which would be felt across the country’, above a picture of the remains of a bus destroyed in the 7/7 London bombings. He went on, ‘As a beacon of freedom, diversity and prosperity throughout the ages, London will always be in the cross-hairs of pan-European terror movements’. You could almost taste the implied bomb threat being masterminded by Khan.

Hidden in the background of the elections we learnt the following. Nicky Morgan U-turned on forced acadamisation, until she can find a sneakier way to do it, I suppose. Jeremy Hunt has agreed to suspend the imposition of the junior doctors contract and to talk; seeing will be believing. G4S has fouled up again, against claims of staff assaulting children, Medway Young Offenders Institute will come under government control. How many foul up’s does it take to stop you using and abusing our tax money as a cash cow for private companies?

Using UN data the Food Foundation thinktank reports that more than 8 million people in Britain struggle to put enough food on their tables. You know, the right to life is not an abstract idea; without the means of survival then the right to life is being openly abused and austerity is a human rights issue especially given that we can seemingly afford to give tax breaks to the wealthy and for corporations. Austerity has always been an ideologically driven imposition aimed exclusively at the poor for which people are paying with their lives.

There is a line, Mr Cameron, and it was crossed so far back it’s out of sight, but thankfully not out of mind. Since 2010 you have served Britain with malicious intent and you and your government are corrupt to the core.

Saturday 07 May 2016.

Dear Mr Cameron,

I confess that I was completely taken aback to discover Lynton Crosby had received a knighthood. It made me realise I had a bit of personal bias going on. Of course you’d knight the guy, his contribution to the election of the unelectable is second to none. That Britain has allowed you to even remain a party, let alone have a small majority in parliament, is nothing short of a miracle, a triumph of PR and spin over sense and reason.

You must be utterly delighted to have fooled so many people when voting Conservative is actually like paying someone to rob you. It’s an astounding achievement.

People complain about voter apathy, and it is a shame that people are so mistrustful, confused, disdainful or possibly apathetic about politics that they don’t vote. But what’s really astonishing is that enough people got up and went out of their way to go to polling stations and actually vote for a party that is taking the nation apart piece by piece, brick by brick, life by life and which legislated to end the states duty to provide universal health care and is privatising our NHS. Seriously, that’s like hedgehogs voting for a massive road expansion scheme.

Why wouldn’t you reward a master of the dark arts of social manipulation like Crosby? The tragedy is that you hired him, paying his firm some £2.4 million, to wilfully and knowingly deceive millions.

From time immemorial, this nation has grown on the back of ordinary people, the unsung, unassuming, unseen and unheard, loyal, hard working British public. They are the real heroes, just as junior doctors and nurses and legions of supporting staff are the heroes of the NHS, shift working 24/7, 365 days a year, just as firemen and women are heroes ready to risk their lives daily to save others every minute of every day.

No knighthoods or gongs for ordinary people. Just austerity, hardship and vilification from a government that rewards the rich and sneers at all those who live lives of quiet desperation, making their lot ever harder. Tell me, when you’re being served at the banquets you attend, do you ever thank those who serve you or those who produce the gastronomic wonders you stuff yourself with or do you just expect it as your right and due for being an over privileged, over priced, traitor to this nation?

Why we need a political campaign to reinstate the NHS

A letter a day to number 10. No 1,421

Tuesday 03 May 2016.

Dear Mr Cameron,

I do not know Zac Goldsmith, I’ve never met the man nor spoken with him, but everything I’ve read about him suggests he is a likeable guy.

As he’s running in a bid to become Mayor of London I would not normally pay too much attention given that I thankfully live in the lush green hills of Somerset but the stridency of his campaign drew my attention. My principle thought was, this campaign has Lynton Crosby written all over it and I was not surprised to learn that his campaign team includes key members of the Crosby team who led your election campaign.

Crosby is a dirt digging propagandist of the worst kind and knows how to make dirt stick and I am guessing the two of you probably got on like a house on fire.

Back in 2013 Goldsmith apparently said he wasn’t interested in running for Mayor, calling it a “suicide mission”, saying, ‘People have had enough of white male Etonians.” He got that right and should have stuck to his guns, instead he decided to run and what followed has been a different sort of suicide mission than perhaps he expected, but he might just have well have put his head down the toilet and pulled the chain.

I have read more than one report that Goldsmith is not comfortable with how the campaign is being run and confided that his handlers were working him to the bone and it appears to me that he hasn’t really got what it takes to run such a dirty campaign, it doesn’t gel.

But before anyone gets dewy eyed for poor old Zac, he’s walked into this eyes wide open and with enough independent wealth to have told the everyone involved to shove their campaign where the sun doesn’t shine. But he didn’t!

So not only is he a hapless fool, a victim of vile propagandists himself, he’s also a gutless fool who, when the going got tough, caved in to a campaign team with all the moral considerations of a bunch of sharks in a feeding frenzy who were prepared to use an image from the London 7/7 bombings to suggest that this is what Londoners could expect if Sadiq Khan, a Muslim, a civil rights lawyer and chairman of Liberty for three years, is elected Mayor of London. Not only should Goldsmith be forced to abandon his pretensions for mayor, he should be drummed out of parliament never to darken the doors of politics ever again.

Dear Mr Cameron,

Can we move on yet? As a nation bedevilled by divisiveness and deeply institutionalised prejudice and racism, led right from the top, isn’t it time you just grew the hell up?

Your government is the most overtly divisive government in our history. Let’s not forget George Osborne’s conference speech in 2012 where he said, “Where is the fairness, we ask, for the shift-worker, leaving home in the dark hours of the early morning, who looks up at the closed blinds of their next door neighbour sleeping off a life on benefits?” Inciting divisiveness, if not outright hatred, in a conference speech in such an inflammatory way is just par for the course for you Tories.

Let’s get the plebs hating each other so that you can get on with privatising our NHS, flogging off our state assets as never before, carving up our education system for privateers, devastating our front line services, driving millions into poverty, attacking the most vulnerable people in society, robbing women of their pensions and so on. You know, all the important stuff that you’d rather we didn’t notice whilst we get on and just hate each other and Muslims and ‘swarms’ of refugees and disabled people.

Remember the Home Office racist vans? They didn’t last long and were banned by the Advertising Standards Authority, but they didn’t have to last long, the damage was done. You can’t put the genie back in the bottle.

Your big headline conference banner, ‘FOR HARDWORKING PEOPLE’, was just another divisive ploy promoting a two tier society and millions of second class citizens.

The latest row on anti-Semitism is just another ‘dead cat on the table’, Lynton Crosby’s favourite political party trick, but it’s turned into a feeding frenzy taking nearly everyone’s eye off the ball. Unlike your party, Labour is actually doing something about the allegations whilst you continue in your sordid revelling in divisiveness as a cover for dismantling and asset stripping the nation.
